Thanksgiving Tips

I can't believe that we are almost rounding the corner of Thanksgiving and then Halloween not too far behind. It feels like the holiday season is just around the corner and I am not sure I am ready for that JUST yet!! Although it IS one of my favourite times of the year:)

With the holidays rolling in comes a whole lot of extras! Extra parties, wine, appetizers, sweets and a whole lot of goodness. I am an honest person and I will share with you that I DO still treat myself, especially this time of the year...I like to stick to the 80% of the time is on par:) If you know me, you know that sweets are my absolutely weakness.....but I have learned over time to control myself and stay focused on my goals. Sometimes of the month are a little more of a struggle than others...but it's always a work in progress!

So let me share with you a few tips so that we don't end up completely overboard after the holiday season!

1. WORKOUT
This is the number one priority to me. Regardless of how busy my schedule is I always make time to get up and get my workout in. This is part of the equation that will keep you moving towards your goals but gives a little room to indulge in a couple of sweets and treats...so my biggest piece of advice is to schedule that workout!

2. THE DAY OF
Keep your day as routine as possible, I wouldn't recommend saving all of your calories for your dinner....treat it like a normal day. I will get up do my workout, have my shakeology, have a snack 2-3 hours later, have some lunch, followed by another snack.  We have workouts as short as T25-25 minutes to help squeeze in effective workout in to a short amount of time.Choose the foods that you truly want vs the things that just taste ok but you eat them because they are in front of you!   Make sense?  Next, drink lots of water!  Still aim to drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces each day so that you don't confuse thirst with hunger and your metabolism is fired up!

3. BE PREPARED
If you aren't hosting and you are attending, show up with a healthy side dish or appetizer that you can munch away on as well. One of my favourites is Fruit Salsa!!

Lastly, enjoy the holidays with your family or friends. Kick back and relax....do something for yourself that will fill your cup and recharge your energy<3

I will be offering a new group beginning October 19th incoporating a fitness program of your choice, shakeology and a focus of reducing stress and anxiety and I extend the invite for you to join! Email me at michpleiter@gmail.com for more details!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Michelle xoxo
