Good Morning and Happy Friday!!
The long weekend is upon us and there will be SO many temptations around us. When I use to attempt a lifestyle change I struggled with over indulging on weekends and giving up on my goals. My BIGGEST suggestion is to tell yourself right now that you will NOT give up, that no matter what happens you will show right back up on Monday and continue on!
I wanted to write this post to share with you a few of the things that I do to help with damage control:
1. Plan your cheat meal out
I embrace the 80/20 rule. I still enjoy a drink or two and a cheat meal. I found that once I embraced this, I was able to continue on my journey guilt free and it helped to control my closet eating and emotional eating because I knew I could still enjoy a treat
2. Control what you can control
There are many other hours in a day that you can control whats happening so my suggestion and what I do are the following:
-begin each morning with a glass of warm water and the juice of half of a lemon squeezed into it. This is the BEST all natural cleanse out there and you WILL notice a big difference!
-be sure to SWEAT....getting your workout in as part of your daily routine is important with the calorie burn and sweating out the extra sodium
-be sure to HYDRATE as much as possible, I usually aim for a gallon of water a day but following a cheat meal day I up that if I can
-be sure to control what you eat around the event....I usually save my yellow containers(carbs) for the cheat meal out!
The best drink option for staying on track???
Soda water/vodka (boring but add a squeeze of lemon, lime or oranges to the mix and give it some flavor)
