GRAPHIC TANK HAUL

Do you ever see those graphic tanks pop up in your newsfeed on Facebook or Instagram and you want to order them but you're hesitant because of the quality and then you don't want to deal with how to go about returning them?! That's ME TOO!!

SO I did some digging and found some on Amazon Prime and I am OBSESSED! They were here within TWO days of ordering, the quality is amazing AND they were all $27 or under! Which is a WIN!

Now you're ready for those hot summer nights by the campfire or at your fav concert.....

I am going to be doing MORE hauls BUT I couldn't wait to post this Duster and adorable dress any longer! The Duster comes available in different colours...I ordered a S/M! This dress comes available in sleeveless as well.....perfectly paired with this Duster OR would be super cute with a jean jacket....

Hopefully you find these hauls helpful when you're trying to find affordable, but good quality clothing

Much love,
M

TOP 8 BOOKS THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE

Growing up I  was NEVER someone who would just pull out a book and read for the fun of it but NOW I can't seem to keep my hands off of them.

My MOST favourite way to soak up all the personal development is by plugging in some earbuds and listening to AUDIBLE! I can listen to books now in 1/4 of the time that it takes me to read them. IF you're interested you can snag TWO FREE books on Audible through this link HERE

There's two different types of PD(personal development) that you can choose to listen to...maybe you need to know how AMAZING you actually really are and how you DESERVE to live your best life....in that case I suggest the following books:

BUT maybe you are also like me and you had ZERO idea about being an entrepreneur OR have any sort of leadership skills....if this is the case than maybe you prefer some books about Leadership.....I suggest the following:

BONUS....a little HUMOR in your life can go a LONG way!! I feel like you need these two on Audbile:

SO, next time you are feeling a little stressed....either log into your Audible account OR pick up one of these books and fill your soul with all the love that it deserves<3

The struggle is real with battling endometriosis so I have a cycle of things that I do to keep my symptoms at bay!

I have a FEW more things up my sleeve so STAY TUNED! INCLUDING diving into a few blog posts about my husbands accident and everything we've been going through. I feel like blogging about it will hopefully help maybe even one other wife who might be struggling with a few things like I have been

Enjoy your week!

MOM FINDS ON AMAZON

One of the biggest things I struggle with, and maybe you can relate, is trying to find some fashion finds that I feel comfortable in as a mom but also still feel a little stylish.

I had launched Jaelle Boutique back in the fall of 2017 but what I found was that I would order items I LOVED and then I would quickly sell out. The supply and demand just wasn't there.

I am excited to begin to bring you some of the things that I find from places, that I love and that you will be able to purchase yourself! I can't promise that it will always be in stock, but I will do my best.

My VERY first round up of finds is for the cruise that I am suppose to be going on at the end of March. I needed some bathing suits, dresses and tanks.

Here are a FEW TIPS about Amazon Prime:

  • IF you go to order something and it's no longer available through Amazon Prime that's only because something is selling quickly, stock is getting low and they can't guarantee 2 day shipping until they receive MORE from the manufacturer. My suggestion is still to order!

  • Prices can fluctuate IF something is selling quickly as well by a few dollars....I know, it's crazy they do that but it is what it is!

  • I will link you to the EXACT seller I purchased my items from. I can't guarantee if you order it from someone else that you will get the same quality/sizing etc.

Stay tuned for some more great finds!

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PROTEIN BARS

These were SO simple and easy to make you definitely have to give them a try!!!

BALANCING IT ALL- PART 1

I think one of the hardest things as women, as moms and as wives....is to compare ourselves to one another. We might look at someone else and wonder how they do it all, I mean they look like Wonder Woman balancing 4 kids, hockey, meetings, work etc. But what we don't know is all the behind the scenes things.

Maybe she has a house cleaner?
Maybe she orders all her meals from Hello Fresh?
Maybe on the inside she's actually screaming for help?

One of the most frequently asked questions I get is how I balance my time. So let me share with you a few tips that have helped me along the way.

1. Don't do it all.
I use to feel like I had to say yes to every social outing, every play date AND volunteer at school until someone once told me that I needed to learn how to say no. At the end of the day it doesn't get me any further ahead to say yes to everything, in fact it puts me behind and just ends up leaving me feeling more stressed. So I've learned to say NO. Do I get invited to less things-sometimes it feels like it. Do I feel like less of a mom because I work from home and don't always volunteer - sometimes that crossed my mind but in the end I am not less of a mom. Always remember, what matters most is what's inside the four walls that surrounds you<3

2. Decide what your priorities are.
Once you learn how to say no to things, take a few minutes to sit down with a nice warm cup of coffee or tea and write out what your priorities are in a day. Be sure to include the necessary things but ultimately what are your ideal priorities:
-exercising
-work
-family time
-making meals
-coffee dates
-date night

When I sat down and decided what my priorities were, that's when my schedule became regular and the stress felt like it started to melt away. I always felt like I had to do certain things because society says I do AKA have a corporate job....vs....doing one that's out of the norm. But let me let you in on a little secret....this is YOUR life and you get to live it however you wish-remember...you only get to live it once!

3. Everyone has shit going on.
Always remember, you only see what you only see and the reality is everyone has things that are going on behind the scenes. I know for our family we have had an intense two years of everything under the sun happening. I don't share the stories publicly because they aren't my stories to share....but there's one thing that's maintained the same throughout the rollercoaster of the past two years and that's our family routine and our priorities. Stress will always exist. Things will always be happening. One of the most freeing things that you can do for yourself is to let go of the idea that you will "start" when things ease up. Don't wait for that to happen because unfortunately it won't. So I suggest, if you're trying to figure out how to balance it all....think of yourself when you are 80, what would your 80 year old self say to you today. Would she have regrets? Would she have some I wished I would haves?

You don't have to be Wonder Woman.
It's ok to hire out a house cleaner to lighten your load for something that might be a higher priority.
It's ok to order your groceries online because you wanted to be at your sons hockey game.

Pick your priorities.
Schedule them in throughout the week.
And make peace with anyone elses expectations other than your families<3

The day she became real

One day earlier this week, you and I were listening to a tape you had found and on that tape there was a sound that sounded similar to a heartbeat. You turned to me and asked if that's what it sounded like when you were in my belly.

I paused for a minute, because we've had the conversations many times about the day you were born and how you've had a tummy mommy, but in that moment I reminded you again that you grew inside someone else's tummy. You giggled and said "oh right" and then you asked a question that I wasn't sure I was ready for yet.

See most people in the Adoption community think it's selfish for me to have emotions like this, but I think it's still very REAL. It has nothing to do with what could've been and has everything to do with the fact that it hurts my heart to have to shatter your world

Why does your story have to be different?
You're going to have SO many question, questions that most children shouldn't have to think of.

And in certain moments, I question whether I am strong enough to handle the situations to come, but than I remind myself that I can handle anything and I hope you are raised thinking the same thing.

That morning you asked to see a picture of her.

I walked to the kitchen and grabbed my phone. We don't have any physical pictures but I do know where I can find one....I pulled it up and you looked at her and giggled again....."why is she doing that?!" You asked...she had her hand placed on her chin. I smiled and said I wasn't sure.

We chatted about your story again and I reminded you to always ask us any questions if you have any.

But none the less, that morning she became a real person to you......and I wish you know every single day going forward that she chose the the option she did out of pure love for you and I hope you also know that we don't ever wish for things to have turned out to be different than they are<3

The Story of Me

There's never a direct point A to point B with anything we do in life, especially a health and fitness journey when you have any sort of addiction working against you. My journey has been a journey of self healing from the inside out. I LOVE food and restricting it SO much only causes me to spiral out of control. I have started to test something different and I don't want to share JUST yet what it is but I am bringing two girls who have been apart of my online Fit Family for awhile now and they are testing this out with me.

So stay tuned for some check ins, recipe sharing and results!

In the mean time be sure to check out my recipe section if you are looking for a little inspirations<3

Slow Cooker Stuffed Pasta Shells

Recipe:
  • 24 (1200g) Barilla jumbo pasta shells
  • 1 cup Publix 2% skim (low fat) Ricotta
  • 6 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup Sargento reduced fat 4 cheese Italian, shredded
  • 3 cups Publix 2% mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 large egg
  • 5 cups chopped frozen spinach, thawed
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Parsley, optional
Start by adding a layer of marinara sauce to the bottom of the slow cooker (about 2 cups). In a large bowl mix ricotta, 2 cups 2% mozzarella cheese, 1 egg, thawed spinach, garlic, seasonings, and parsley. Take (uncooked) pasta shells and fill each with equal amount of mixture. For you macro trackers you will need to weigh the total mix and divide by 24 to know how many grams of mixture each shell should contain. Layer the bottom of the slow cooker with shells, you will use about half. Once the bottom is covered in stuff shells top with 2 more cups of sauce and sprinkle your final cup of mozzarella cheese on top. Add your final layer of stuffed shells and top with remainder of sauce. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours. When you are ready to serve top the shells with the Italian cheese blend and parsley, allow to cook covered for another 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted. Happy flexible dieting!

When the going gets tough!

This weekend was spent soaking up some quality time with some new friends from my online accountability groups! We had a BLAST! We planned out all of our food since we are all following similar eating patterns...and planned out some treat and cocktails. The sun was out, the beach was beautiful and next thing you know the tequila was out too! GAHHHH......I am NOT a tequila drinker!

Most times in my life this would've been the point I completely derailed myself and the focus I was having on me and felt I was a failure which in return meant tossing in the towel and giving up on my progress.

But over the last couple years my mindset has completely shifted to figuring out my balance and how I can enjoy ALL of it! I LOVE life and spending quality time with friends but I also want to be a healthy mom for our son....that has energy to run and play with him for the many years to come.

So as soon I came home yesterday I got right to work planning our meals out for the week and my workouts. This morning marked day 15/21 with this program and it was a mental challenge BUT this is the final week and we are PULLING through as a group in our online groups!

I've had some AMAZING progress with this program especially with coming home from New Orleans and jumping in...I had some bloat to deflate lol but none the less the "shift" is happening!!!

I am not one for 45min workouts but what's getting us through this week is telling ourselves we can do hard things!!! And so can you!!!

Registration is opening up this week for my NEXT group!!! Be the FIRST to secure one of TEN spots in it!!!

You're going to get a YEAR access to every single program we offer which means a YEAR access to ALL of my online groups!

If you're ready to jump on in to the group just fill out this application and I will be in touch with you within 24hrs!!!

Toddler Oat Cups

This recipe was a HUGE hit across everyone in the household. The thing that I liked most about it was you can mix up the different flavours you can add into it to please everyones tastebuds. Not only that but they are gluten(if you purchase gluten free oats)/dairy/sugar/soy free!
Thank you @babyfoode for the recipe!!

Oat Cups:
3 cups old fashioned oats, separated*
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 large ripe bananans, smashed (roughly 1 cup)
2 eggs
1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
1/3 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line or spray 12 muffin tins.
2. Take 1 cup of the old fashioned oats and pour into a blender or food processor. Pulse the oats for 30 seconds or until you they resemble a thick flour that resembles corn flour. Don't over pulse or you will get a sticky flour. You can also use 1 cup of pre-made oat flour instead of grinding your own.
3. In a large bowl, whisk together the oats, oat flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the smashed bananas, eggs, milk, syrup, coconut oil and vanilla extract.
5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until incorporated.
6. Gently stir in any add-ins (see suggestions below).
7. Spoon oat batter into the muffins tins all the way to the top.
8. Bake for 30 minutes or until just golden brown on top. Let cool slightly and serve.

Shift Shop-Week 2

I have been a little MIA here on this blog, we've been BUSY with various other things and I haven't been keeping up. This week began a NEW routine for myself which has allotted time for blogging. I do love it and it's place for me to share resources and tools to help everyone all in one spot.

Last week a group of girls and myself(and Chris of course!) began the brand new program Shift Shop!

I snapped some "before" photos and we got to work quickly. I wrote out my meal plan and did some shopping, planned out our workouts and got to work. I snapped my progress photos and I couldn't believe the change in ONE week! It blew my mind! This program is going to change A LOT of lives!

Here are my favourite things about this program:
1. Chris Downing has an incredible story himself....you should head over to youtube and take a listen to it. It alone is inspiring and knowing his story while doing the program makes it that much more of a powerful experience.

2. Chris explains the form ALONG with a visual so that there is no room for error

3. Chris's #1 motto for the program is "try before you modify". I think so often we jump to modifying because we feel like we can't do the actual move but pushing your limits is where change happens, so trying FIRST and then going to the modified version will also increase results.

4. The meal plan is incredibly simple.

Here are my LEAST favourite things about this program:
1. There isn't a large amount of variety. Each week rotates between two different programs

2. Carb depletion....although I am going to love the results...going through carb depletion isn't my favourite. BUT I am not giving up! I am going to finish this program!

The bonus to rotating between the two programs(cardio and resistance) is that your increase in endurance is NOTICED!!!

Today I am sharing with you our week 2 meal plan and hopefully you find it helpful on your journey<3

Everyone needs some SWEETS in their life!

One of my BIGGEST weaknesses on this journey is sweets. Not for a single second do I want to portray perfection over here, but I will constantly pick myself back up and recommit after falling flat on my face.

I try and always have a healthy version of something prepared in the house incase an urge hits! I do my best to keep myself busy and one thing that has helped me significantly to overcome binge/emotional/closet eating is allowing myself a free meal of whatever I want a week. Without it I don't think I would be where I am today!

This weeks treat was Advocado Brownies. As disgusting as I thought they would be I have to shout out one of the gals in my accountability group and now friend, Carey for sharing this with me.....they were freaking DYNAMITE and even better FROZEN!!!

I didn't have any Maple Syrup so I did use Honey as a sub. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did!!

Fudgy Avocado Brownies with Avocado Frosting
Ingredients
  • 300 g dark chocolate chopped or chips
  • 2 tbsp Coconut oil
  • 2 medium avocados pitted and peeled
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 eggs at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup less 1 Tbsp. coconut flour
For the Avocado Frosting

  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup

  2. Line the base and sides of a 9 x 13 in pan with parchment paper, allowing some overhang.
  3. Put the dark chocolate and coconut oil in a bowl set over simmering water, without it touching the water.
  4. Melt the chocolate, stirring until smooth then remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Place the avocado into a food processor or blender and process/blend until smooth.
  6. Stir the avocado, honey and vanilla extract into the cooled chocolate.
  7. Next, add the eggs, one at a time, making sure each is well mixed before adding the next.
  8. Stir in the coconut flour and cocoa powder until the batter is smooth.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread to cover the pan and fill the corners. Smooth the top.
  10. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the top is firm to the touch.
  11. Remove from oven and cool completely in the pan before lifting the brownie from the pan.

For the Avocado Frosting
  1. Place frosting ingredients in a food processor or blender along with the cocoa powder and maple syrup.
  2. Process/Blend, scraping down the sides as needed until very smooth.
  3. Add more cocoa powder or maple syrup if needed to taste.
  4. Spread over completely cooled brownies.

Ever feel like you are failing???

Do you ever try to make a change in your life and then feel like you have completely failed?

And...because you feel like you failed you completely give up and feel like you just can't do it?

This use to be me ALL the time.

I would start a week fresh with some new goals, go at it hard for the weekend and then throughout the weekend everything would fall apart. Come Monday, I would completely give up because I had "failed"

THIS is the mentality I realized I had to change. When you build momentum with ANYTHING that you do, you breed consistency and when you breed consistency you WILL breed results...you just have to keep going:)

This past week has been a true testament to this. Coming back home from our trip to a full moon and a time change left this momma feeling exhausted with a toddler who was less than cooperative.

My nutrition fell to the wayside a bit but I kept my workouts consistent and controlled what I could control with my nutrition.

I would've given up before, felt like I completely failed.

But since I began participating in my online fitness groups I have all of these women that I can turn to for support...who lift me up daily and remind me that I am not failing and to just keep going.

The 90 day program we have been doing has literally pushed me through a plateau I was having. We are in the final two weeks beginning tomorrow and I am READY to dial back in. I feel like I have caught up on sleep and everyone has finally adjusted after being jet lagged, and exhausted from the time change and full moon. I AM READY!!!

THIS is the meal plan I have created for my challengers as they enter their FINAL week! Mine looks a bit different than this but I wanted to share this with all of you because it can be difficult to come up with ideas!!!

Click HERE for the full grocery list and meal plan!!!

I can NOT wait to share my 90 day transformation with you guys. Regardless of this past week, it's still been CRAZY AMAZING!!!

My next group is beginning in ONE WEEK and there is still time to join!

If you are interested in joining complete this form and I will be in touch within 24 hours:)

You will receive one on one support, daily MOOD BOOSTERS, meal plans AND have the chance to win some FUN prizes while getting healthy and fit for summer!!
